Design Evolution: From Concept to Optimised Performance

This immersive home cinema began life as a 5.4.4 Dolby Atmos concept, aligned with the client’s initial brief for a discreet yet engaging space. However, following detailed room analysis and acoustic modelling, it became clear that the room’s proportions and construction would benefit significantly from a more ambitious approach.

By expanding the system to a 9.4.4 configuration, we delivered significantly greater immersion, smoother surround transitions, and more consistent coverage across all seating positions. This upgrade was not about specifications for its own sake, but about unlocking the room’s full potential and ensuring a genuinely cinematic experience for the entire family.

Audio Performance: Precision, Power, and Control

At the heart of this system is a carefully curated Artcoustic loudspeaker solution, combining speakers from the Evolve and Architect series to deliver exceptional clarity, dynamics, and tonal consistency. The system is underpinned by four Artcoustic SUB 2-12 subwoofers, strategically positioned to provide even, controlled low-frequency response throughout the room, powerful when required, but never overwhelming.

System processing and amplification are handled by the Anthem MRX-1140 AVR, chosen for its excellent room correction capabilities and ability to manage complex multichannel environments with precision. Careful calibration ensured the system delivers both impact for blockbuster films and subtle nuance for dialogue driven content and music.

Collaboration and Client Vision

This project was a true collaboration between the client, our design team, and CinemaLuxe. The client had a clear vision for how the room should look and feel, prioritising elegance, comfort, and everyday usability alongside performance. That clarity of intent enabled us to push technical boundaries while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic.
