For this substantial family home in Chelsfield, Kent, New Wave AV was commissioned to create a complete technology experience that complements the property rather than dominates it.
From arriving at the gates to relaxing by the pool, entertaining friends, enjoying music throughout the house or settling down for a film in the private cinema, the vision was simple: make every interaction with the home feel effortless.
Behind that simplicity is an extensive technology infrastructure that brings together entertainment, lighting, security, access, climate, and connectivity in one beautifully integrated Control4 smart home.
One Home. One Experience.
Rather than filling the property with different controls for different systems, we created a consistent experience throughout the home.
Discreet keypads, elegant touchscreens and handheld controls provide intuitive access to the technology, allowing lighting, entertainment and other integrated systems to respond naturally to the family’s lifestyle.
The result is technology that feels less like something you operate and more like an integral part of the home.
Lighting for Every Occasion
Integrated lighting control was incorporated across the main living and entertainment areas, allowing the home’s atmosphere to change effortlessly throughout the day.
Whether entertaining in the reception and dining areas, enjoying the swimming pool or settling in for a movie, carefully programmed lighting scenes allow multiple circuits to work together at the touch of a button.
It creates a home that can feel bright and welcoming one moment, intimate and relaxed the next.
Entertainment Throughout the Home
Music and entertainment were designed to flow naturally from room to room.
A centrally located audio and 4K video distribution system serves spaces throughout the property, with discreet architectural speakers helping preserve the interior aesthetic while delivering high-quality sound.
Entertainment extends beyond the traditional living spaces into areas such as the kitchen, gym, bedrooms, library and swimming pool, allowing the family to enjoy music and television wherever they choose.
Importantly, selected areas were also prepared for future expansion, allowing the property’s technology to evolve over time.
A Private Cinema at Home
At the heart of the home’s entertainment offering is a dedicated private cinema.
A large CinemaScope projection screen, combined with 4K projection and a powerful Artcoustic surround sound system, creates an immersive movie experience at home.
Lighting, picture, sound and control work together, transforming the room from arrival through to the opening scene.
No collection of remotes and no complicated sequence to remember. The technology disappears, leaving the family to simply enjoy the experience.
Comfort Without Complexity
A truly intelligent home goes far beyond entertainment.
Climate control was integrated into the wider Control4 system, making the home’s environmental technology part of the same intuitive experience.
Security was approached in much the same way. Gate access, visitor communication, CCTV, and the property’s security systems were incorporated into the overall smart home design, creating reassurance without compromising the home’s appearance.
The Technology You Don’t See
Some of the most important technology in this home is almost completely invisible.
Behind the scenes, New Wave AV designed the network, Wi-Fi, structured cabling, central equipment racks, power management and distribution infrastructure required to support a property of this scale.
